Andrea Repp
Educational Consultant
Andrea Repp currently lives in the Atlanta area and will be obtaining her Master's degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience from San Diego State University following her thesis defense in February 2008. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with minors in Premedical Studies and Literature from Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. While at RIT, Andrea became very involved in research and was a Kearse Award recipient for her writing contributions to the psychological sciences. Andrea has worked as neuroscience research assistant in several laboratories at SDSU investigating Alzheimer's disease and the effects of aging, the prenatal effects of teratogens, and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Andrea has experience teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate level and is working towards obtaining her teaching certificate and a Master's in Education. Prior to attending SDSU, Andrea worked as a Behavior Specialist at a large non-profit agency in Buffalo, New York working with individuals of all mental and physical abilities and has continued to work with these populations in San Diego and Atlanta.
Andrea strongly believes that learning should be fun! All successes, no matter how trivial or small they may seem, should be acknowledged and praised. She also feels that good time management skills, consistently setting and working towards intermediate goals, and effective problem-solving techniques are the keys to success.
Whether as a student, researcher, or teacher, Andrea truly enjoys the world of academia. Her free time is spent working out, spending time with friends and family, and volunteering in her community.
