Eric Stevens
Educational Consultant
Eric Stevens completed his undergraduate work in 2004, graduating from the University of California Santa Barbara with a degree in Business Economics. While at UCSB, he also studied Spanish and spent his senior year of college studying Spanish, history and culture in Cordoba, Spain.
After earning his degree he moved to Leon, Nicaragua. While in Nicaragua, he worked as a tutor and mentor in an after school center for homeless children. He tutored elementary school children with homework and taught construction and life skills to the high school aged Nicaraguan students.
Eric recently spent 2 years of his life in Costa Rica, volunteering as a teacher with the Peace Corps. As a volunteer he began a sustainable computer learning school and he also received a grant to construct a safe, drug free park in the local community. He taught business planning and entrepreneurship to the high school graduating class, creating a scuba diving and tour business plan which promotes tourism as an alternative to over-fishing. He provided micro-enterprise training to 15 small businesses and taught English to over 30 local residents.
Eric has taken and scored highly on both the GRE and GMAT and is currently debating between a M.A. in International Environmental Policy and a M.B.A. in non-profit management. When he is not tutoring he enjoys reading, surfing, doing yoga and volunteering.
