Jena Jolissaint
Educational Consultant
Jena Jolissaint grew up in Southeast Louisiana and graduated from the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts in Natchitoches in 1994. During a campus visit to Oglethorpe University she was drawn to Atlanta’s spectacular skyline and spent four years as a Presidential Scholar before graduating cum laude in 1998. After a year spent studying French in Montreal, she moved to Eugene, Oregon as a Graduate Teaching Fellow at the University of Oregon and completed her Ph.D. in Philosophy.
Seven years of rain and snow was enough to convince her that you cannot, in fact, take the South out of the girl and so she returned to Atlanta in 2005. In addition to academic consulting Jena is a freelance writer and teaches Writing and Philosophy part-time at Oglethorpe University. When she’s not writing or coaching her students on the beauty of a well-crafted thesis, Jena spends her free time reading, doing yoga, volunteering, cooking for friends, traveling (next stop: Morocco!), learning to knit, and trying to teach her darling dog Delia to come when called.
