Jennifer Childress recently earned a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. She developed an interest in biology and neuroscience while attending Hillcrest High School, from which she graduated in 1997 as the class valedictorian and as a National Merit Scholar. Jennifer then earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Missouri Columbia in 2000.
Throughout college and graduate school, Jennifer enjoyed teaching and tutoring K-12 students through school outreach programs and through the local Boys and Girls club. She is dedicated to improving educational opportunities for all students. This dedication led her to her current position at the National Science Resources Center in Washington, D.C.
