John Boyenton

John Boyenton graduated in 1999 from Pomona College in Clairmont, California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern European History. A native of Newport News, Virginia, John returned home and began his educational career as a Special Education teacher. Over the past five years he has worked in settings ranging from a private hospital for emotionally disturbed students to a public high school. He has worked with Special Education students of all abilities and in all subjects. He particularly enjoyed assisting students succeed in high level high school classes in collaborative mainstream settings. Most recently, he has taught high school-aged autistic students for Arlington County, Virginia.

In his spare time, John plays ice hockey and coaches soccer. He is returning to his own education as well, with the aim of becoming a history professor. Currently, John resides in Alexandria, Virginia and tutors throughout the DC Metro area.
