John H. Harris IV
Educational Consultant

John grew up in Sylvania, OH, a suburb of Toledo. He started tutoring in the sixth grade when he worked with first and second graders on individual subjects that were challenging for them. He continued tutoring throughout high school, working at local community organizations and within his own high school tutoring students of many ages. In the summers he continued to volunteer his time at these organizations. After his Junior year, he spent 3 weeks in Tijuana, Mexico working with underprivileged students in a day care center. During his high school years he was also an active participant and captain of his high school's rowing team.

After accepting admission at the University of Minnesota, John began working with students throughout the Minneapolis community. He also acted as a mentor for several community groups. During his time in Minnesota he worked for other community organizations and found that he enjoyed competing in local triathlons. Although he started as a pre-med major he switched to biology, society and the environment so that he could concentrate on science and the humanities in order to prepare for law school. He ultimately decided to attend school in in Boston, MA at New England School of Law.

Although he has only been living in Boston for a year John found time to start the Health Law Association at his law school. This summer, along with other endeavors, he is interning at the Legal Office for the Department of Public Health in the State of Connecticut. In the future he also wishes to obtain a masters in public health and start his own medical malpractice firm.

In his spare time John enjoys running, reading, traveling abroad and discovering new music.
