Tina Mathew

Tina Mathew graduated from Columbia University in May 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Neuroscience and Education. She is also a New York State Certified Secondary School teacher in the subject of biology.

Possessing a strong dedication for academia and scholarship, and a passion for research in the field of Neuroscience, Tina went on to pursue a doctoral degree in Bio-Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience at Hunter College. She is currently a first-year Ph.D. student with ambitions of teaching at the college level while conducting breakthrough research in the areas of memory, cognition, and learning.

Tina has had various teaching experiences throughout her academic career.
Her experiences include student-teaching a 10th-grade biology class at the Bronx Engineering and Technology Academy as part of her Education Program, teaching the SAT and the SHSAT at Kaplan Test Prep, and working as a teaching assistant in the Biological Department of Columbia University, to name a few.

Her passion for teaching is only matched by the satisfaction she receives from helping students of all ages to enjoy learning and gain confidence in their ability to succeed. Tina's other passions include music, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends.
