Violet Woodward Pu spent the majority of her childhood in Georgia. She attended Yale University as an undergraduate, where she served as an Opinions & Editorials section editor and theater reviewer for the Yale Daily News.

After graduation, Violet relocated to Los Angeles, where she currently resides. A former flag twirler, trumpet player and spelling bee champion, she enjoys baking desserts and making photocollages.
