Catherine Yoshimoto
Educational Consultant

Catherine received her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley in the spring of 2001. While a student at U.C. Berkeley, she served as a Council Member of the U.C. Choral Ensembles, initiated the Job Shadow Program at Berkeley High School, and competed on the Cal Forensics Team. In her spare time, she tutored her classmates in advanced Japanese. At the end of her sophomore year, the California Alumni Association recognized her leadership skills by awarding her the prestigious Emerging Leader Scholarship.

Catherine's thirst for adventure has since taken her to opposite ends of the globe - she studied at Sophia University in Japan and worked at a policy organization in Washington, D.C. before studying and conducting research at Lund University in Sweden. After a year in Lund, she moved to Sweden's capital and interned at the U.S. Embassy while attending Stockholm University. Needless to say, Catherine is now fluent in English, Japanese, Swedish, and conversational Norwegian.

Outside of Vanguard Education Consulting, Catherine works full-time as a research analyst at a global investment management organizationand as a tax preparer in San Francisco during tax
season. Aiding local community high school and college students with their studies and college admissions process is, however, her first passion and she is proud to have been a part of the Vanguard Education Consulting team since the spring of 2002.
