The Vanguard SAT tutoring worked wonders on my SAT score. My final SAT score was Reading: 560, Math: 680, and Writing: 590. In about a month, I raised my 520 Reading score to a 560. This may not seem like a lot but without this score, I would have never been able to get into all of my schools, CSU Fullerton, UC Irvine, and UCLA. I highly recommend Sekou and Rebecca, who both helped me on my SAT. They were very good at adapting to my weaknesses and strengths. They taught me tricks that would work with a lot of the SAT questions and things to look out for that appear on the SAT a lot. They were also good at working with my schedule to find times to make sessions and coming to my house on time. Also, Vanguard helped me with editing my college essays. They would give me suggestions on what I should add into my essay to make it more effective with not "writing" my essay. I was hesitant at first to let someone help me with my essay because I did not like the idea of someone giving me ideas on what I should write about myself, but the help was not like that at all. They gave me suggestions that did not tell me what to do, but that would let me rethink my writing. Vanguard tutoring was an enormous help and I recommend it to all teens who are going to take the SAT in the future.

I don't know if Brian called you last night, but I want him to tell you how well he did on the test.
He got a 2200, with the scores dividing into 750 for reading; 720 for math; 730 for writing; 73 for multiple choice and 9 for essay as subscores.
Moving through the writing, pacing and completing within the time limits was his challenge area and he did very well. And we appreciated your flexibility in doubling-up both kids and hours, so that both Rebecca and Brian could accomplish their goals in the 6 weeks they had.

Just wanted to take
the time to let you know how happy we were with Dave Park. He was very
easy to work with and was always professional. He seemed to ride the waves
with Aaron and I think they even bonded. Aaron learned so much from him

out his last application to St John's and supplement to Bennington this
afternoon. How can I thank you for sending Adam to us--I have been so
impressed with how he has worked with John. And the improvement in his
second round of ACT and SAT II scores was so impressive. ACT up from 27
to 28, SAT II Writing up from 640 to 740 and changing from SAT II Spanish
with listening to Literature added 200 points! A 300 point gain on SAT
IIs will really help with John's UC safety schools.
The essay help was wonderful too. John had resisted even showing us the
essays. After Adam left last night, John told us Adam had been a real
help. He then asked if Adam could review his supplement for UC Santa Barbara
if he makes the first round for their writing program. I'll be in touch
if it happens.

going into the (SAT) test because I knew what to expect from all of the
practice tests I took. I knew the types of questions and was familiar
with what I needed to look for regarding each question type. The math
and verbal tactics I learned gave me a starting point in approaching each
problem so I was never lost. This is a program that presents students
with the necessary tools and opportunity to be successful at the SAT's.
The student's job is to take advantage of this opportunity and utilize
it to maximize his or her potential.

I got my SAT scores
today online. I scored a 580 on math and a 560 on verbal - according to
my math skills that is an 1140!!!!!!! Wooooohooooooo!!!! I would like

Our College Night
